Ideas for Art Show

1. Visual Music 

         The idea is to visualize any kind of music of what a user chooses and you can see the visual projected into the wall of the gallery.

     2. Visualizing Poetry
        There will be select famous Poetry that a user can choose. Each significant word in the poetry will create a piece of art. There will be an animated pen to draw the word that represents something and makes the whole poetry into a new canvas of  a visualization poetry.

    3. Installation
      Using the Kinect game system, a person can play a certain character using there movement.

   4. Using  the game system Wii, I would like to be able to create a game that involves you as the player becoming a Maestro in your own orchestra. Being able to create your own music by controlling what the orchestra is playing, and what order each instrument can be heard. Using the Wii controller as your wand to select each group in the orchestra to play at your command.

   5. Visualizing Image
I will load image and when the mouse is pressed it will paint colors until the image is reload.

6. Paint Tools
 4 to 6 different kind of shapes will be able to make a paint canvas using keypressed and mousepressed.

Future Project Ideas

1. Interactive Virtual Word

I will create an interactive installation where you feel like you are actually in that even or place that you would like to go. This somehow can relieve stress or any emotion. I will use the entire gallery's wall and possible use of projectors. Each wall has different concept of a fantasy world. Somehow a person can control of where he want to be. I also think of using a kinect to control, somehow would look like a touch screen wall. 

    2. Dance/Music/Art

I will create some kind of virtual studio for dance where people control a place where they can dance and play music. This is easy for them because they will not set up things physical way. They can just choose the theme, or how the studio would look like and they can choose what kind of lightning and also there will be option of a visualizer in the background and music play. You can dance by yourself or multiply your self dancing like an image mirror or you can choose people in the computer will dance with you around the world.

Artist Statement

Ana Bantasan is a new media artist who creates expansive virtual worlds for the audience to interact with. Her work acts as a psychological tool to improve emotional well-self. Her playful aesthetic uses new technologies to make the world a better place.

I chose the poem of  Maya Angelou called

Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
